Our first wedding anniversary was coming up and hubby and I were thinking of a perfect getaway to celebrate it. So hubby and I prayed, and thought of going on a roadtrip. We decided to take the road to Medina, Gingoog. However, when we got there, accommodation was terrible. Hotels and resorts are creepy and dilapidated. So we decided to cross the island nearby called Camiguin. In this island, I know exactly where to stay comfortably and enjoy serenity. And that is Bahay Bakasyunan Resort!
Its was already 9:30 in the evening when we arrived at the port of Balingoan where we can find Roro to transport us going to the island of Camiguin. Sadly, there were no boats travelling at night. Roro's first trip is at 6 AM in the morning. So we resorted to look for a place to stay overnight. Nightmare as it is but, we couldn't find any decent accommodation nearby for us to sleep. So we decided to stay in our car and made it our humble dwelling for a night. Our clothes served as our curtains, and bags as our pillows. It was a perfect adventure!
Around 4am, the port opened and they allowed us to buy tickets. We paid P170 per person. And it cost us P1,100 to transport our car. The ride was an hour and e half. And about 30 minutes drive from Binoni Port, we reached Bahay Bakasyunan Resort. Check in was swift, then this calm and peaceful ambiance welcomed us. The waiting paid off.
Rooms are one of a kind. It is very unique and are made up of raw materials like bah kubo, but sophisticated inside. It was clean inside.
Their rooms are quite pricey though. The lowest price for Bahay Bakasyunan's accommodation is P3,400 per night inclusive of tax and breakfast.

Hubby and I were starving by the time we reached the hotel. So, we did checked out their restaurant. Food is very tasty, and prices quite reasonable for the served size portion. Authentic Pinoy dishes are available. Indeed, we filled our empty stomachs with honey glazed chicken, chopsuey, and omelette with garlic rice.
Hubby and I then went for a roadtrip. We went around Camiguin Island and saw breathtaking sceneries! Rolling hills, mountains, volcano, hot springs and vast oceans. We are humbled to see God's wondrous creation.
After the whole day of driving around and visited few tourist spots in Camiguin, we went back to our Bahay Bakasyunan and ate a hearty dinner. We then rewarded ourselves with a delicious banana split dessert. It was very tasty!
After our dinner, we spent some time at the hammock area, stargazing while waiting for our food to be digested. Then, afterwards, we went swimming and played billiards. It was awesome!
My hubby and I were so happy to experience an incredible anniversary holiday away from the bustling city. We had a blast!
